WHAT IS iGenNB AND INTERGENERATIONAL LIVING?
Intergenerational living is a living arrangement between an older adult and younger adult who share a household.
The goal of iGenNB is to enhance quality of life and provide affordable housing and mentorship through connection and co-living.
iGenNB is a pilot project and research study funded by HSPP and will be completed in the English language.
CO-LIVING
AGE IN PLACE
iGenNB serves to provide companionship and mentorship through shared living and shared household responsibilities.
The participants shared responsibilities may include:

Light Housework (ie: dishes, laundry, dishwasher, vacuuming)

Home Maintenance (ie: minor repairs, cleaning vents/gutters, painting)

Moving, lifting, carrying, or reaching
-
Laundry
-
Pet Care
-
Snow removal/Seasonal Yard Maintenance

Shopping/Running Errands
-
Meal Preparation
-
Gardening
-
Companionship
-
Computer help
-
The majority of New Brunswick’s older population wishes to age in place

Our program enables older adults to remain in their homes with dignity and independence

The pilot phase has ended, we are no longer taking applications. If you are interested, you can submit your name for updates about the next phase.
The schedule for the next phase is pending as the learnings from the pilot are being fully considered and reported.
