The Work Place
The Ville Cooperative is a new holistic community center in Marysville’s old Alexander Gibson Memorial School, generously described as a combination of local community institutions such as the Charlotte Street Art Center and Greener Village, and modeled on international social innovation hubs such as The Plant in Chicago and Headspace in Australia. Needless to say, The Ville has a mighty heart and grand plans. It is a cooperative of like- minded individuals, NGOs, and businesses who have joined forces to change the narrative of New Brunswick; to strengthen and empower communities that are self-determined and self-sufficient, compassionate and collaborative.
Through a network of diverse relationships The Ville team and staff works hard to provide local communities the opportunity to learn, share and grow. By offering a place where learning, recreation, and sustainability are the main focus, they empower people to experience what it means to be responsible, successful members of a community! Through the promotion of health, recreation, and sustainability the center serves as an essential hub that consists of professional workshops, camps and clubs, green technology initiatives, food security, dynamic programming, and many more opportunities within the Fredericton community.
